Nature-based Programs for Schools

With over two decades of teaching experience between them, the Directors of Educated by Nature have a strong desire to serve the education sector by offering a variety of nature-based programs for schools.

Getting students out of classrooms to play, learn, explore and engage with nature, not only develops new skills. It also fosters a broader sense of wellbeing and respect for our natural environment.

Our nature-based incursions are designed for students from Kindergarten through to Year 6. Developed by qualified teachers, there is a strong focus on the cross-curriculum priority of sustainability. The incursions also develop many other key learning areas as well as general capabilities of students.

Educated by Nature’s Professional Learning workshops are developed drawing on teaching experience and current research, with active engagement with children in nature. Workshops reference the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership Teaching Standards.

The Nature Connection Series is an innovative excursion series from Educated by Nature. It is designed to support schools to take learning outdoors - training teachers, engaging students, and providing practical, tailored examples of activities.

Consultation services empower educators to use nature as their learning environment and are tailored to meet the needs of the school, childcare centre or organisation. Consideration is given to location, budget and desired duration and outcomes.

While not strictly a school program, our Bush Inventors' Club after-school program is closely linked with the education space, with qualified teachers as Lead Facilitators. Perhaps your school might be interested in hosting this program.
